What to do when you are facing a storm

Verse: ‘But now, this is what the Lord , your Creator says, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you [from captivity]; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. ‘

Isaiah 43:1-2

What to do when you are facing a storm.

Maybe right now, you are really struggling. Maybe you are struggling with your finances, your health, stress with school, stress with COVID, stress with work, depression, anxiety, and honestly there is so much more. Maybe right now, you are facing a storm. I know that life is really hard right now but I want you to know that even if you are walking through a storm, God is always with you (Isaiah 43:1-2).

1. Seek God daily.

You seek God by reading your Bible, praying, listening to God, and worshiping God. It’s also really important that you seek God daily. It’s important to seek God daily because I honestly don’t know how I make it through each day if I didn’t seek God daily. Everyday I wake up and say: “God, be with me today, help me today, be by my side, and give me strength.” I say that because I know that God hears my prayers (Psalm 125:1-2) and I know that He is with me (Psalm 121:1-2). If you are struggling, run home to Jesus and seek Him daily.

2. God is always with you.

God promises that He will never leave you (Hebrews 13:5), and He will always be there for you (Psalm 121:1-2). Even though you are facing a storm, you are not alone. God is by your side (Psalm 118:6). So you never have to worry or be afraid because with God, you can do anything (Matthew 19:26) But if you are feeling fear, worry, anxiety, or depression, the best thing to do is run to Jesus and know that He is with you (Psalm 121:1-2).

It’s okay to scream, cry, get angry, punch a wall, pull out your hair, but it is NEVER okay to give up. Somedays you may want to give up. Sometimes it takes all your strength not to give up but I say, please don’t give up. Keep going. God loves you (John 3:16). God has an amazing plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11) So always keep going because God has a plan and a purse for your life (Psalm 136:1).

Dear God,

I am facing a storm right now. I can’t do this without you. God, I pray that you come grab my hand and help me through this storm. I pray that you bless me as I seek you and spend time with you. I pray that as I seek you that I build a close relationship with you. I pray that you bless with me everything I need to face this storm. I thank you for your goodness, love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace. I praise you because you are so good to me.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!
