Devotional: Trusting God in all times

Devotional: Trusting God in all times

Verse: ‘Trust [confidently] in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Selah. ‘

Psalms 62:8

Do you trust God at all times?

How do you trust God in all times?

Here are my tips and tricks:

1. Remember that circumstances change but God never changes. (Hebrews 13:8)

Circumstances in life will always change like the weather. But we can always go to God who is the same today, tomorrow, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) So we know that we can put our trust, hope, and faith in God because He never changes (Hebrews 13:8)  and His word is true. (Deuteronomy 7:9)

2. “This too shall pass.” Bad times will pass and good times will come.

God NEVER promised us an easy life without trials but He did promise us that He will help us and that He has overcome the world. (John 16:30-33) I have always loved the quote: “This too shall pass.” Because in life, bad times will happen but it will pass and good times will come. God has an amazing plan and purpose for your life so you can trust in Him. (Jeremiah 29:11)

3. We may never understand God’s plan or why bad things happen, but we can trust in God. (1 Corinthians 1:9)

We may never know why bad things happen to us and that’s okay! We don’t have to have all the answers. But even when we don’t understand why bad things are happening to us, we can trust in God because He is faithful (Psalm 33:4), He is good (Psalm 31:19), and He is trustworthy (1 Corinthians 1:9).

Remember after Jesus died on the cross and rose again. Thomas didn’t believe that Jesus rose again. So long story short Jesus showed up the disciples and Jesus said to Thomas: “Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.”‘ John 20:24-25, 26-27,29

That relates to us because we may not always understand why God is doing something or not doing something. But we are blessed when we trust and believe in God even when we can’t see God or the reasons why bad things are happening.

Remember God’s promises FOR YOU:

God will love you forever. (Psalm 136:1)

God will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5)

God will comfort you. (Isaiah 49:13)

God will help you and always be there for you. (Psalm 121:1-2)

God is always faithful. (Psalm 33:4)

God keeps His promises. (Deuteronomy 7:9)

God is good. (Psalm 31:19)

God will draw near to you. (Psalm 125:1-2)

You can do all things through Christ. (Phillpians 4:13)

With God on your side, you can do anything!  (Matthew 19:26)

God has an amazing plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11)

God is for you and on your side. (Psalm 118:6)

God is all around you. (Psalm 125:1,2)

God never changes. (Hebrews 13:8)

Prayer:

Dear God,

Lord, I am struggling. Even though I don’t understand why I am struggling, I am still going to put my faith, hope, and trust in you. Because: I believe in you, I know you are trustworthy, you are faithful, you are good, and I believe in all of your promises. I pray that as I seek you by reading your word, talking with you, worshiping you, and listening for you that I build a close relationship with you. I love you and I live to serve you. I pray you bless me with everything I need to fight my battles and win. I thank you for the cross. I praise you because you are so good.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Be Still and know I am God❤️

Devotional: Be Still and know I am God❤️

Verse: ‘“Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.” ‘

Psalms 46:10

In this world, we are always busy. We always have millions of things to do and not enough time to do it all. I don’t know one person who says they are not busy. Being busy can be a good thing but if we never make time for God, then being too busy is a bad thing.

God wants us to: “Be still and know that I am good.” (Psalm 46:10) God just wants us to sit in stillness with Him. God wants us to seek Him by reading His word, worshiping Him, praying to Him, being still, and listening for Him. God just wants to be close to you and for you to spend time with Him.

I know it’s really easy to get busy and not spend time with God. But if we want a close relationship with God, we have to spend time with Him. We need to put God first in our lives. How to put God first in your life is by spending time with God everyday. God doesn’t want to be second best. (Exodus 20:3) God loves you (John 3:16) and God just wants to be close with you. (Psalm 125:1-2)

When you spend time with God, that time is never wasted. You don’t have to spend hours seekings God but just start seeking God everyday. I will do this with you! Because I know I have time to play on my phone so I know I could be using that time to seek God. I know I probably look on social media too much. It’s really easy to get distracted by our phones. But part of making God number one in our lives is to put our phones down.

Let’s put our phones down and start spending time with God everyday!

Dear God,

I pray that as I spend time seeking you by reading your word, worshiping you, talking with you, being still, and listening for you that you bless that time I spend with you. I pray that as I spend more and more time with you that I become close to you. Because I love you Lord and I live to serve you. I just want to be close to you. I know in your word you say that when we draw near to you, you will draw near to us. So please draw near to me and help me with whatever I am going through. Bless me with everything I need to fight the battles I am facing and win! I thank you for your goodness, grace, and love. I praise you and worship you because you are so good.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Thank you so much for reading! I love you all❤️

Devotional: Being Thankful

Devotional: Being Thankful❤️

Verse: “’I will thank You forever, because You have done it, [You have rescued me and kept me safe]. I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.’”

Psalms 52:9

It’s so easy in our society today to focus on our problems and not our blessings. It’s easy to feel down and sad about the problems we are facing. But we are not looking at life the way God wants us to. God wants us to focus on Him, count our blessings, and be thankful.

I know lately all I have been doing is focusing on my fibromyalgia. Which isn’t good or healthy. I am very sorry to all of you because I am writing these devotionals about God, not myself. Now I am going to be doing this with all of you: I will start focusing on God, counting my blessings, and being thankful.

How do you start focusing on God?

By seeking God through prayer, worship, listening to Him, and reading the Bible. As you spend time seeking God, you will grow closer to God and the more you will know about God.

Also you need to change your mindset to stop focusing on your problems and circumstances and fix your eyes on God. You change your mindset by seeking God and asking God to renew your mind. God will renew your mind as you spend time seeking Him. Because when we draw near to God, God will draw near to us. (Psalm 125:1-2)

As one of my favorite authors and speakers Joyce Meyer says: “We all have a part (in a relationship with God). God has a part and we have a part. We have to do our part (by seeking God) because God will not do our part.”

Now we need to count our blessings and be thankful.

How do you do that?

Make lists everyday of things you are thankful for and praise God for the things on your list.

Here is my list:

  1. I am thankful for my family.

  2. I am thankful for my pets.

  3. I am thankful for my friends.

  4. I am thankful to go to college everyday.

  5. I am thankful for my really nice car.

  6. I am thankful I have the ability to crochet blankets and donate those blankets to people in need.

  7. I am thankful for my ministry: “Jesus Saves Ministry.

  8. I am thankful for my growing podcasts: “Jesus Saves Ministry Podcast” and “Chronically Caty.”

  9. I am thankful for my good grades in college.

  10. I am thankful for coffee! My favorite drink!

  11. I am thankful that my liver is doing good and my colon is doing good.

  12. I am thankful that I finally have a doctor to help me treat my fibromyalgia.

That is my list today and today I will thank God for everything that is on my list. I hope that you write your own list and praise God for your blessings. Because we always have more blessings than problems. We need to praise and thank God for every blessing and not focus on our problems.

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I seek you by reading your word, talking to you, worshiping you, and listening for you that I build a strong and close relationship with you. Help me renew my mind to be focused on you and my blessings and not my problems. Help me as I write lists of my blessings that I become more thankful and praise you for everything on my list. I love you Lord and I live to serve you. I praise you for your goodness, grace, and love.

I thank you for Your Son and all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: You are a conqueror!❤️

You are a conqueror!❤️

Verse: “’Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].’”

Romans 8:37

You are a conqueror!

Maybe right now, you are really struggling. Maybe you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, work, school, mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, lost a loved one, or maybe you just feel so hopeless about your circumstances. I want to encourage you today that you are conqueror and you have victory in life through Christ!

In life there are so many struggles: pain, depression, anxiety, stress, trial, storms, and so much more. But even though life is tough, God is tougher. You are a conqueror! You can anything that life throws at you with God on your side! (Matthew 19:26)

Even though life is tough we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. (Philippians 4:13)

I don’t know what you are going through but I do know that with God on your side, you can and will have victory! (Romans 8:37)

So reach out to God. He will grab your hand and help you through life with whatever you are struggling and dealing with. You don’t have to do life alone. Go to God and He will come to you! When you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. (Psalm 125:1-2)

Also reach out to God but seeking Him by: reading the Bible, praying, worshiping Him, and listening for Him. By seeking God you will be able to have a personal relationship with God. That’s what God wants for you. I have also loved the quote: “it’s not about religion, it’s about a personal relationship with God.”

As you build that relationship with God, God will give you strength to fight your battles and have victory!

You can and will get through whatever you are going through! I believe in you. God believes in you. I love you. God loves you so much! (John 3:16)

You are a conqueror who will have victory!!

Prayer:

Dear God,

Right now I am struggling. I pray that you come close beside me and grab my hand. I know that with you on my side Lord, I can do all things. I know that I can and will have victory through you. I pray that you bless me with whatever I need to have victory and overcome everything I am going through. I pray that as I seek you that I build a close relationship with you. I love you Lord. I want to be close to you. I praise you for all your love. I praise you because you are so good.

I thank you for all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Hope

Devotional: Hope

Verse: “ ‘This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells],’”

Hebrews 6:19

Maybe right now, you are really struggling. Maybe you are battling depression, anxiety, stress, mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, or maybe you lost a loved one. No matter what we are going through: we need to anchor our hope in God.

Lately I know I have been battling with depression so hope has been hard for me. But thankfully my stomach has been doing better!! Praise God! I am still struggling with physical pain from fibromyalgia and depression. But my depression has gotten better and now I am seeing a therapist. So I feel really hopeful! And we all need to put our hope in God.

How do we anchor and put our hope in God?

You seek Him by: reading His word, praying for hope, listening for Him, and worshiping Him. Also you need to trust and depend on Him. Which is much easier said than done. But we have to remember that: God is good. (Psalm 31:19), God is always faithful. (Psalm 33:4), and God is trustworthy (1 Corinthians 1:9) So even when we are struggling, we need to put our hope, faith, and trust in God. Because God will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) God is good even when life isn’t.

Now back to hope, how we put our hope in God is to not put our hope in worldly things like people or circumstances. Because people and circumstances are always changing like the weather. But God is the same, today, tomorrow, and forever. (Psalm 102:27) God will give you His hope if you go to Him and seek Him.

But you can’t just pray one time for hope and be done. You have to continue to seek God by reading His word, praying to Him, asking Him for hope, listening for Him, and worshiping Him. But as you seek Him, He will draw near to you. (Psalm 125:1,2) As you seek Him, you can build a strong and good relationship with Him. And as you seek Him you will learn more about Him and grow closer to Him. So this doesn’t happen overnight, you have to keep seeking Him and keep praying. But I promise you, it is worth it to seek God and learn more about God.

Always remember that with God on your side, you can do anything!  (Matthew 19:26) So you can have hope and make it through whatever you are going through!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I seek you by reading your word, praying to you, listening for you, and worshiping you that you bless me with your hope. Hope that is in you and not people or circumstances. I pray that as I seek you I learn more about you and grow closer to you. I pray that you grab my hand and walk through life with you by my side. Because with you on my side Lord, I know I can do all things. I thank you for your grace, love, hope, and goodness. I believe in you and I believe you hear me. I believe you will help me.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Go to God and let Him be your refuge

Go to God and let Him be your refuge❤️

Verses: ‘”The Lord also will be a refuge and a stronghold for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble; And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, For You, O Lord , have not abandoned those who seek You.’”

Psalm 9:9-10

Maybe right now, you are really struggling. Maybe you are battling a mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, stress, anxiety, depression, burn out, or maybe you have lost a loved one. No matter what you are going through: God wants you to come to Him and be your refuge.

Right now I am struggling with stomach issues and pain from fibromyalgia. I am having a colonoscopy done on Monday. So please pray that I get some good news from my colonoscopy. But mentally, I am doing much better! Praise God! I don’t feel depressed or anxious. Thank you Jesus (and my doctor for increasing my medicine)! So I am running into God’s arms and letting Him be my refuge.

God wants you to come to Him. No matter how long it’s been since you have come Him: He still loves you (Psalm 136:1) and He wants to be your refuge (Psalm 9:9-10). There is nothing that you could ever do to make God stop loving you. (Romans 8:38-39). So go to God!

You go to God by seeking Him through: reading the Bible, praying, worshiping Him, and listening for Him. When you seek God, He will draw near to you. (James 4:8) As you spend more time with God by seeking Him, you will learn more about God and become closer to Him. You can then build a close relationship with God.

A relationship with God is the best relationship you can have because God is so good (Psalm 31:19), God is always faithful, (Psalm 33:4), God keeps His promises, (Deuteronomy 7:9), God is trustworthy (1 Corinthians 1:9) and with God on your side, you can do anything! (Matthew 19:26)

When you seek God, He will bless you with His joy, love, peace, hope, comfort, trust, guidance, wisdom, rest, and so much more. God loves you and He wants a relationship with you. God also wants to be your refuge for when you are struggling, you go to God first. I love the saying: “go to the throne of God before you go to your phone.”

So if you are struggling, the best thing you could do is go to God. He can’t wait to see you!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I am running into your arms. I am really struggling and I need your help. So please grab my hand and walk through life with you by my side. I can’t do life without you. I need you Lord and I love you. I am letting you be my refuge. I pray that as I seek you, that I grow closer to you and learn more about you. I pray that I build a strong and close relationship with you. I praise you because you are so good, faithful, and trustworthy. I thank you for your love and goodness. I believe in you and all my life I will serve you.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Worship

Worship

Verses: “I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.”

Psalms 7:17

Lately I have been struggling. I have been struggling with unbearable pain from fibromyalgia and now stomach issues. I am having a colonoscopy in a few weeks. I have also been struggling with depression and anxiety. I haven’t been doing good. Maybe you are struggling too. Maybe you are battling a mental illness, chronic illness, cancer, stress, or maybe you have lost a loved one. No matter what we are going through: one thing I find that always makes me feel better is to lift my hands and worship God.

On Friday I was driving home from college and I just turned on my Christian Worship music. I prayed, sang, lifted my hands, and praised the Lord. So if you are struggling, my advice to you: read your Bible, pray, turn on your Christian music, lift your hands, sing, and worship God!

Worship is one of the ways that we can connect with God. You might feel awkward worshiping God, that’s okay! Just keep worshiping Him and I promise it gets easier. If you feel awkward worshiping God in public then worship alone in a room or when you are driving alone in a car (but make sure you still focus on driving.)

For me, worship really helps me lift my eyes away from my problems and helps me focus on God and His goodness. Because God is so good (Psalm 31:19) and He loves you so much. (Psalm 136:1) He sent His only Son to die on the cross: FOR YOU! Because He loves you so much that not even death would stop His love for you. (Romans 8:38-39) (John 3:16)

One of my favorite quotes is: “God is good, even when life isn’t.” You may be in a lot of pain right now, I know I am. But we can always lift our hands and worship the Lord because He is worthy of our praise. God is always faithful. (Psalm 33:4) God is good. (Psalm 31:19)

Even when we are struggling we can always focus on God and worship Him!

Worship songs I love:

Some worship songs I love:

Ever Be by Bethel

It Is Well by Bethel

What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong

This Is Living Now by Hillsong Young and Free

Great I Am by New Life Church

Thankful by New Life Church

We Won’t Be Shaken By Bethel

Jesus We Love You by Bethel Music and Paul McClure

Mercy by Bethel Music and Amanda Cook

No Longer Slaves by Bethel Music, Jonathan David and Melissa Helser

Prayer:

Dear God, right now I am really struggling. But instead of focusing on my problems, I am going to fix my eyes on you and worship you. I need you Lord so please come to me and grab my hand. Please stay by my side every minute of every day. Help me grow closer to you as I read my Bible, worship you, listen for you, and talk with you. I believe in you Lord. I believe that you are good even when life isn’t. I believe you are faithful and trustworthy. All the days of my life, I want to praise and worship you.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!
