Even in the darkest night, Jesus is light💛

Even in the darkest night, Jesus is light

Verse: “’Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “ I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”’

John 8:12

Even in the darkest night, Jesus is the light.

Maybe right now, you are struggling. With Covid-19 still going strong I am sure it’s easy to feel that we are living in darkness right now. Maybe right now you are struggling with depression, anxiety, sickness, feeling stressed, and overwhelmed. I don’t know what you are going through right now, but I do know that even in the dark times we are living in, Jesus is always the light in every darkness. Even though the darkest night, Jesus is the light of the world and in Him, we can have life! (John 8:12)

So how do we have light in Jesus? How do we have life in Jesus?

We need to fix our eyes on Jesus and not our circumstances. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we can see His goodness, love, faithfulness, mercy, love, forgiveness, joy, rest, peace, and so much more. It’s easy to focus on our circumstances and the darkness of the world. But when we fix our eyes on Jesus, we can see Jesus in all His glory.

How do you fix your eyes on Jesus?

You seek God through reading His word, worshiping Him, listening for Him, praying to Him, and by taking every thought captive. So you need to seek God daily so you can focus on Him.

How you take every thought captive is you think about, what you are thinking about. When you begin to think about something, ask yourself: “is this negative thinking of the darkness of the world?” Then you choose to think about Jesus and all His goodness. You can’t do this alone, you have to have God on your side. But you can do this because nothing is impossible with Christ (Phillpians 4:13).

We also need to renew our mind.

How we do this is to pray to God for Him to renew our mind and then we practice taking every thought captive. We can’t renew our mind without God, so invite the Holy Spirit into your heart and ask Him to renew your mind. We renew our mind by asking God to do this through prayer. Then we need to continue to seek God and continue to fix our eyes on God. You can’t pray this prayer once and be done. It’s a process and it won’t happen overnight. But if you put in the work by daily seeking God, He will renew your mind.

You find life through Christ by praying to God to bless you with His peace, rest, joy, hope, and whatever else you need. Then you keep seeking God daily and He will bless you with whatever you need to face the darkness you are facing.

Remember: God will love you forever. (Psalm 136:1) God will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5) God will comfort you. (Isaiah 49:13) God will help you and always be there for you. (Psalm 121:1-2)

How do we find light and life in Jesus?

Fix our eyes on God

Renew our mind

Take every thought captive

Seek God daily

Pray for whatever we need

I know this sounds really hard and scary but with God on your side, you can do anything! (Matthew 19:26)

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I fix my eyes on you that I stop focusing so much on my circumstances and the darkness of the world, But instead to focus on you and your goodness. I pray the Holy Spirit comes into my heart and mind and renews my mind. I pray that as I continue to seek you daily that you bless me with everything I need to make it through this storm. I pray that as I seek you daily that I build a close relationship with you and learn more about you. I praise you for goodness, love, and mercy. I praise you because you are light even in the darkness. I praise you because you are a good Father.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Trust in God

Trust in God

Verses: “’Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].’”
Proverbs 3:5-6

I love this verse above because it really challenges us. To trust in God even when we don’t understand. Because in life, we don’t always understand why bad things are happening. Jesus warned us in John 16:30-33: that in this world we will have trouble, but that He has overcome the world. God promised that we will have trouble. When we do have trouble, we need to run to God by seeking Him and putting our trust in Him.

It’s easy when we are struggling to run away from God, doubt God, and question God. But that’s not what God wants us to do. Instead He wants us to run into His arms by seeking Him through prayer, worship, listening to Him, and reading His word. As we seek Him daily we will be able to draw near to Him (Psalm 125:1-2).
So as we continue to seek God, we need to put our trust in Him.

How do you trust in God?

It takes faith. You have to believe and have faith in God even when things aren’t going your way. You have to believe that even when life isn’t good that God is still good (Psalm 31:19). You have to believe that even when life isn’t going the way you planned that God still has an amazing plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). You just have to believe in God and His word which takes faith.

But it’s up TO YOU! YOU have to choose to trust God. I can’t do it for you. YOU have to put your faith, hope, and trust in God. YOU have to take a leap of faith and trust in God. Because I could list millions of reasons why you should trust God, but it’s up to you to make the decision to fix your eyes on God and not your circumstances.

I promise you, that if you choose to put your trust in God, you won’t be disappointed. Because God will love you forever. (Psalm 136:1) God will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5) God will comfort you. (Isaiah 49:13) God will help you and always be there for you. (Psalm 121:1-2) God will draw near to you. (Psalm 125:1-2) You can do all things through Christ. (Phillpians 4:13) With God on your side, you can do anything! (Matthew 19:26) God has an amazing plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11) God is for you and on your side. (Psalm 118:6)

So put your trust in God TODAY!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I am putting my trust in you. Lord I know that you are good even when life isn’t good. I believe in you and your word. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me. I believe you are good, faithful, mercyful, and trustworthy. So I am taking a leap of faith by putting my faith, hope, and trust in you. I pray that as I seek you that I grow closer to you. I thank you for your love, goodness, and mercy. I praise you because you have an amazing plan for my life.
I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

How to have joy and hope despite circumstances

How to have joy and hope despite circumstances

Verses: ‘But this I call to mind, Therefore I have hope. It is because of the Lord ’ s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness. The Lord is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, To those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word]. It is good that one waits quietly For the salvation of the Lord . “The Lord is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul; “Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.” ‘

Lamentations 3:21-26

How to have hope and joy despite your circumstances

I love what Joyce Meyer says about hope: “Hope is a positive exception that something good is going to happen to me today!” Yesterday was my 22 birthday and I woke up with the attitude that: I am going to have a good day and good things are going to happen to me today! I had the best birthday ever because I changed my attitude and mindset. My circumstances were the same and I didn’t get to see any of my friends due to lockdown. But I had an amazing day.

How did I do that? Have joy and hope despite my circumstances?

1. I pray to God to help me have hope and joy no matter what happens that day.

I went to go in prayer before I got out of bed and poured out my heart to Him. I asked Him to help me have joy and hope no matter what happens today. I continued through the day to seek Him by reading His word, worshiping Him, praying to Him throughout the day, and listened to Him. To have joy and hope despite circumstances, you can’t do that alone. You have to pray to God, seek God, and have God on your side.

I changed my mindset today: “No matter what life throws at me today. I am going to be happy and enjoy my birthday.”

2. You have to change your mindset to: “No matter what life throws at me today. I am going to be happy and enjoy my day because I have God on my side and with God on my side, I can do all things (Philippians 4:13). You will probably have to say that statement to yourself a lot but it truly does work because God will help you (Psalm 121:1-2).

3.At the end of the day, I praise God and woke up the next day with that same attitude

Even when you don’t feel like praising God, praise God! Turn on your favorite worship music and sing your heart out to God. We have so many things to praise God for because: He is so good (Psalm 31:19), He is faithful (Psalm 33:4), He always keeps His promises (Deuteronomy 7:9), and He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for US! (John 3:16) Praising God pleases God and helps you fix your eyes on God and not your circumstances. Then the next day, just do all these things again. I did all the same things again and now I am having a wonderful day today too.

No matter your circumstances, you can find joy and hope in God (Lamentations 3:21-26).

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I do all these steps that I find true joy and hope in you. I pray that as I seek you that you draw near to me. I pray that you bless me with everything I need to make it through each and everyday. I praise you be with all those who are hurting right now and heal them. I pray you be with all the workers. Help them, heal them, and keep them safe. I pray you wrap your arms around everyone right now because we need you Lord. With covid-19 going strong, I know that you are strong. I praise you for your goodness, love, and never ending mercy. I praise you because you are so good, faithful, you keep all your promises, and you sent your only Son to die for me.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Victory in Jesus

Victory in Jesus

Verses: ‘Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day. For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]! So we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen; for the things which are visible are temporal [just brief and fleeting], but the things which are invisible are everlasting and imperishable.’

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I love this verse below because it was written by Paul. Paul is one of my favorite people in the Bible (Besides Jesus) because Paul struggled with true suffering but he also wrote about joy during suffering. Paul had a thorn in his side, he was put in prison, but he also wrote about how that even when we are suffering we can have joy because we have Christ. And that this world is broken but if we look to God, we can find everything we need. Because though we live in this world, this world is not our home. Our home is in Heaven with Jesus.

In this world, we will have trouble, trials, pain, sorrow, and suffering. But in John 16:31-33 Jesus tells us to have hope because He has overcome the world. In the verses above Paul is telling us that yes we will struggle, but we can go to Jesus and find strength. We can run into God’s arms and He will be there to help us and be there for us (Psalm 121:1-2)

Paul also wants to remind us that the earth is not our home. Our home is in Heaven with Jesus! So we need to fix our eyes on Jesus and remember that yes we are struggling but God has an amazing plan for us (Jeremiah 29:11). Yes we may suffer on this earth but in Heaven there will be no more suffering (Psalm 97:6). Yes we may suffer but we can have victory in Jesus (Matthew 19:26). Because with God on our side, we can do anything (Philippians 4:13).

So seek God through worship, prayer, reading His word, and listening for Him. He will draw near to you (Psalm 125:1-2). He will bless you with everything you need to fight the battle you are facing and win (Isaiah 49:13)! Then as we seek Him daily we can fix our eyes on Jesus.

I believe in you. God believes in you (Hebrews 13:5). You can and will get through this (Phillpians 4:13). I love you. God loves you so much more (John 3:16).

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I seek you that I grow close to you. God I pray that you bless me with everything I need to get through the storm I am facing. I can’t get through this without you Father. I ask that you can into my heart and help me. I pray that everyday you are here by my side. I pray that you be all those who are working doing covid-19. I pray you bless everyone who is working and heal everyone who is sick. Even though that covid-19 is scary, I know that with you by my side. I can do anything. I praise you for your goodness, mercy, and never ending love. I praise you because you are a good Father. I love you Lord!

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Even if

Even if

Verses: “’Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. perseverance, character; and character, hope.’”

Romans 5:3-5

A few days ago while I was watching church online, my pastor spoke an amazing message that I want to share with you. I am sure you have all struggled with pain. That was what the message was about. But my pastor said: “When we go through trials and pain, instead of saying; ‘why God? Why is this happening to me?’ But we change our mindset to say: ‘even if I am going through trials and pain, I will trust in the Lord. Even if my circumstances are horrible, I will put my hope and faith in Jesus. So no matter what we face, we can and will get through it by changing our mindset to say: even if.’”

Jesus knew we would have many trials on this earth. He tells us in John 16:30-33: “In this world, you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.” So Jesus knew we would struggle. We shouldn’t be surprised when we go through trials because Jesus already told us we would. But instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, running away from God, doubt God, or question God. We can say: “Even if horrible things happen to me, I will still put my faith, hope, and trust in God.”

By changing our mindset, we can have hope, peace, joy, and rest even while we are going through trials. Because we can find true hope, joy, peace, etc, in Jesus. So we need to run to Jesus instead of away from Him. We need to seek Jesus by reading His word, listening to Him, praying to Him, and worshiping Him even when we don’t want to. Because as we seek Jesus, He will draw near to us (Psalm 125:1-2). We can change our mindset with God’s help because with God on our side, we can do anything! (Matthew 19:26)

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as we seek you that you will draw near to us. I pray, Lord that you change our mindset to trust in you even if things don’t go our way. I pray that you bless us with everything we need to face whatever we are facing. I pray that you grab our hand Lord, and walk through life with us. We need you Lord and we love you. I pray that as we go through this tough time with covid-19 going stronger, help us know that you are stronger. I pray that you heal everyone that is hurting. I pray that you bless everyone who is working with strength and healing. I praise you Lord because you are so good to us Lord. I praise you for your mercy, love, and goodness.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Run to God❤️

Run to God❤️

Verses: “’Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.’”

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Right now, you may be feeling very overwhelmed and stressed. With Covid-19 still going strong and everyone is on lockdown, it can feel like everything is out of our control. It’s easy right now to feel stressed, depressed, or/and overwhelmed. But just now that God is here for you (Psalm 121:1-2), He loves you (John 3:16), and He wants to comfort you (Isaiah 49:13).

When we are struggling, we usually do one of two things. One, we run away from God, Or two, we run to God. Right now, I encourage you to run to God by seeking Him through reading His word, worshiping Him, listening to Him, and talking to Him. As you talk to Him, pour out your heart to Him. Tell Him EVERYTHING, you are thinking and feeling. He will be there to listen to you (Hebrews 13:5), help you (Psalm 121:1-2), and comfort you (Isaiah 49:13).

As you seek Him, He will draw near to you (Psalm 125:1-2). He will bless you with His joy, peace, hope, comfort, love, grace, forgiveness, mercy, rest, and so much more. You will be able to build a close relationship with Him as you continue to seek Him daily.

God wants to help you with whatever you are going through (Psalm 121:1-2). God knows what you are going through and He just wants you to come to Him by seeking Him. God wants to be there for you (Psalm 121:1-2). But you have to come to Him by seeking Him. Just know that as you seek Him, you will be able to face anything you are going through. Because with God by your side, you can do all things (Philippians 4:13)!

Prayer:

Dear God,

Right now, I am really struggling. But instead of running away from you, I am running to you. I pray that as I seek you I build a close relationship with you. I pray that as I seek you, you bless me with whatever I need to face this storm I am facing. Because with you on my side Lord, I know I can do things. I pray you are with everyone in the world that is hurting and is sick. I pray you heal those suffering from Covid-19. I pray you are with those who are working right now, I pray you bless them and keep them well. I praise you all your goodness, love, and never ending mercy. I praise you because you are so good to me Lord. You are good Lord even when life isn’t.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Endurance

Endurance

Verse: “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.” Romans 5:3

Maybe right now, you are really struggling. Maybe you are feeling really anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, etc. No matter what you are going through: God is always with you (Psalm 121:1-2).

I don’t know what you are going through right now. But I do know that you don’t have to face this battle alone. You can always message me. I am always here to talk to you and to pray for you. Also God is always there for you (Psalm 121:1-2). God will always be there to help you with whatever you are going through (Isaiah 49:13).

God will be there to comfort you, love you, and forgive you. God will also bless you with His grace, love, mercy, forgiveness, comfort, guidance, endurance, joy, hope, faith, and whatever else you need to fight this battle you are facing.

As you seek God through: worshiping Him, reading His word, listening for you, and praying to Him. He will draw near to you (Psalm 125:1-2). Because He loves you so much (John 3:16) and He wants a relationship with you. So as you seek Him daily, you will be able to grow in your relationship with you. God is for you and He is always on your side. (Psalm 118:6)

Just know that you can and will get through this (Phillpians 4:13). Remember to never ever give up because there is always hope in Jesus (Jeremiah 29:11). No matter what you are going through because: you have God on your side, and with God on your side, you can do anything! (Matthew 19:26)

Prayer:

Dear God,

Right now God, I am struggling. So I pray that as I seek you that I build a close relationship with you. I pray that you bless me with whatever I need to fight this battle and win! Because with you on my side, Lord, I can do all things. I praise you for all your goodness and love. I praise you because you are so good to me. I praise you for your mercy, grace, and forgiveness.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your Son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!
