Devotional: Cast your cares to God

Cast your cares to God❤️

Verse: “‘cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].’”

1 Peter 5:7

Maybe right now, you are really worried. Maybe you are battling a mental illness, a chronic illness, stress, or maybe a loved one is sick. Maybe you feel so stressed and overwhelmed and just don’t know what to do. What you need to do: is relax, take a deep breath, and cast all your cares to God.

Lately I have been really struggling. I have been in a lot of pain because of fibromyalgia. But now I am having some pretty serious stomach issues that will cause me to have a colonoscopy. I still have to do college. I feel pretty stressed to say the least but for the past few days I have been crying out to God and casting my cares to Him.

When you cast your cares to God, it’s like you hand them to God, let go, and let God take care of it. It’s trusting God with your worries, fears, anxieties, and concerns. How you do this is you go to God in prayer and tell Him about your worries, fears, anxieties, and concerns then declare that you are casting all your cares to Him. Now you don’t have to worry anymore because God is taking care of it. God is faithful (Psalm 33:4), trustworthy, (Deuteronomy 7:9) and He has an amazing plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11). I have always loved the says: “give it to God and go to sleep.”

Now you keep seeking God. Don’t just pray one time to cast your cares to God. You have to continue to seek God by reading His word, talking with Him, listening for Him, and worshiping Him. You need to keep casting your cares because sometimes you will still worry and feel anxious. But when you start to worry or feel anxious, you go to God.

This process of casting your cares to God doesn’t happen overnight. You have to continue to declare victory over worry, fear, and anxiety by casting all your cares to God. You CAN and WILL have joy, peace, love, hope, rest, and freedom from worry, doubt, fear, and anxiety.

Because you have God on your side, and with God on your side, you can do anything! (Psalm 118:6)

Prayer:

Dear God,

I am really struggling with worry, fear, and anxiety. I feel worried and anxious about (fill in the blank with what you are worried and anxious about). But I am done worrying! I am casting all my cares to you Lord. I am letting go of worry, fear, and anxiety. I pray you fill me with your joy, peace, rest, love, grace, and freedom. I pray that as I continue to seek you by reading your word, talking with you, worshiping you, and listening for you that I become close to you. I am surrendering everything to do Lord. I believe in you. I know you hear my prayer and I believe that you will help me. I praise you because you are so good!

I thank you for Your Son and all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Positive Attitude

Positive Attitude.

Verse: “You have made known to me the paths of life; you fill me with joy in your presence.” Acts 2:28

Story time:

Lately I have been working really hard to have a positive attitude. I have been reading Joyce Meyer’s book: “Power Thoughts.” Which is talking about the power of thinking with a positive attitude. Since I am still in pain from fibromyalgia pain. I don’t want to be in pain and with a bad attitude. So with God’s help I have been working on attitude so far I have been having a really positive attitude.

The truth is: we can control what we think. If we think things like: I will never get better. I am never good enough. Then we will feel that way! (I am not talking about depression. Depression is an illness. I am talking about bad attitudes.)

But if we focus on the positive things in our lives, we will feel more happiness and joy with God’s help. Start writing lists everyday of things that make you happy and the good things in your life.

As my Dad always says: “you find what you are looking for.” If you look for things to be happy and joyful about, you will find it. If you like for things to be sad about, you will find that as well.

Remember you can’t have a positive attitude by yourself, you need God’s help. So seek God By: reading His word, praying to Him and ask for His joy, and listen for Him.

Continue to seek Him and continue to look for the good. I promise you, with God on your side, you can and will have joy. You can also have a positive attitude no matter what life throws at you because you have God on your side and with God on your side: you can do anything!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I pray that as I read your word and listen for you that you bless me with your joy and help me have a positive attitude. Help me everyday to look for the good things in life that you have blessed me with me. I thank you for all my many blessings. Help me to be grateful and thankful everyday. Because you are so good and I have so many reasons to be thankful and grateful.

I thank you for Your Son and all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Strength

Strength

Verses: “As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.” Psalm 138:3

Maybe right now, you are really struggling. Maybe you are facing some tough circumstancing that are making you feel weak. Maybe you feel overwhelmed and exhausted. Maybe you are battling an illness or watching a loved one battle an illness. No matter what you are going: God is here to give you the strength you need to fight that battle and win!

Right now I am doing pretty good but my Mom isn’t. Earlier this year she had brain surgery and that went well but she has had a rough recovery. Yesterday she called her doctor and her doctor told her to go to the ER. So please pray for her. She is really struggling. I am really worried about her. I know my whole family could use some strength.

No matter what you are going through: God would love to give you His strength. How? You seek God by: reading His word, praying for strength, and listening for Him. You continue to seek and then God will give you His strength. But you don’t just pray once and be done. You continue to seek and pray for strength.

God loves you (John 3:16). God would love to give you His strength. But you have to spend time with Him so He can. But I promise you, once you spend time with Him. You will want to continue to spend time with Him. I love reading my Bible and praying with God.

God can’t wait for you to come running into His arms. He can’t wait to help you. He wants to give you His love, comfort, strength, rest, joy, guidance, wisdom, peace, love, hope, and everything you could ever need. God will give you if you seek Him.

So run into God’s arms, He can’t wait to see you!

Prayer:

Dear God,

As I continue to seek you by reading the Bible, praying, and listening for you. I pray you give me your strength. Because God I am struggling. I am feeling weak and I can’t do life without you. So please come grab my hand and walk through life with you by my side. I love you Lord. I live to serve you. So please help me through this. I believe in you. I believe in your promises. I believe you are good and you will help me. I believe you hear my cries. I thank you for hearing me. I thank you for your love, strength, goodness, grace, love, and everything you give Lord.

I thank you for your Son and all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Come home to Jesus

Come home to Jesus

Verses: ‘Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. ‘

Luke 15:11-24

The verse you just read was the parable of the lost son. Today I wanted to talk about no matter who you are, or what you have done: Jesus wants you to come home to Him.

In the story above the son spent all the father’s money but when the son came home, the father celebrated.

No matter what mistakes you have made, no matter what you have done, and no matter how long you have been away: Jesus still wants you to come home to Him.

YOU are God’s child. When you come home to Jesus, all heaven rejoices because one of their children have come home.

Jesus loves you so much that He died on the cross for you. (John 3:16) There is NO mistake that is bigger than God’s love for you. Death couldn’t even stop God’s love for YOU!

God will:

God will love you forever. (Psalm 136:1) God will never leave you. (Hebrews 13:5) God will comfort you. (Isaiah 49:13) God will help you and always be there for you. (Psalm 121:1-2) God is always faithful. (Psalm 33:4) God keeps His promises. (Deuteronomy 7:9) God is good. (Psalm 31:19) God has an amazing plan for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11)

God loves you so much and just like the father in that parable, God just wants you to come home so He can love you, help you, comfort you, forgive you, guide you, encourage you, give you His love, give you His grace, give you His joy, give you His peace, give you His rest, and give you all that you could ever need.

God wants to celebrate in you coming home to Him just like the father did in that parable!

God gives you no shame, only love.

So come home to Jesus, He can’t wait to see you!

Prayer:

Dear God:

I am coming home to you. I know I have made some mistakes and I ask in your name for you to forgive me. I am truly sorry. But from this day forward, I am serving you and you only. I believe in you. I put my faith, hope, and trust in you. I know you are good. I know you will rejoice in me coming home. I know you love you and not even death could stop your love for me. So I thank you for forgiving me. I thank you for you love and the cross.

I thank you for Your Son and all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: When you feel lost and need guidance

When you feel lost and need guidance.

Verses: “’The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”

Psalm 37:23-24

Maybe right now, you feel pretty lost. Maybe you don’t know what job to do, what college to go to, or what to do after high school. No matter why you feel lost: God will give you guidance and you show you the way.

As you all know I am in college and I am going back to college this fall. But I am unsure what to do after I finish college. I have been thinking and praying about going into my ministry and becoming a speaker. I would travel and speak about Christ all around the world. Or I may get a four year college degree. I am still praying and thinking, I am letting God tell me what to do in His own timing. I am letting God guide me.

If you feel lost and don’t know what to do: let God guide you. He may not answer you as fast as you want Him to, but He will answer you. Just keep praying to Him, keep reading your Bible, and keep listening for Him.

Remember God always answers our prayers in three answers: yes, no, or not yet. You just have to listen to which one.

Just grab God’s hand and He will show you the way. God will love you, guide you, comfort you, help you, encourage you, forgive you, and so much more.

God can’t wait for you to run into His arms and for Him to guide you. He can’t wait to show you the way. Just relax and trust in Him. With God on your side, you can do anything!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I am putting my hope, trust, and faith in you. I know I have a big decision to make and I can’t make it without you. So as I spend time reading your word, talking to you, and listening for you. I pray you speak to me and show me what to do. I pray for your guidance and help me not to feel lost. Because wherever you lead, I will follow. I am willing to do whatever you ask of me. Just show me the way Lord and I will follow with you by my side the whole time. Because I know you will never leave me. I trust in you.

I thank you for all my many blessings and for Your son.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen!

Devotional: Burnout

Burnout

Verse: “God says, ‘I have given rest to the weary.'” Jeremiah 31:25

Do you feel exhausted? Barely making it through each day? Tired, worn out, and just unhappy?

If you are feeling ANY of those things, you have come to the right place, and that place is: at the feet of Jesus. Jesus can give rest to the weary. He can give strength to the weak. Jesus is here to help you.

When I got back from my trip from staying with my granddad, I was exhausted and felt burned out. But after sleep a while, resting, and resting in God’s word. I started to feel better. It’s easy to get burnout. But you just have to take the time to rest, sleep, and rest in God’s word.

No matter what your circumstances are: you can find hope, peace, rest, and love in Jesus. How? Just simply pray for it. Talk to God. He wants to be there for you. He knows your pain and struggles. He wants to love, comfort, heal, and help you. All you have to do is go to Him and He will wrap His arms around you.

Heaven rejoices when one of God’s children (aka YOU) comes to Jesus. So come home to Jesus! He will give you what you need. He loves you and is here for you.

If you feel burned out? That’s okay, because we are running into the arms of Jesus!

Prayer:

Dear God,

I am exhausted and I feel burned out. I am running into your arms. I pray you give me your rest as I rest, sleep, and read your word. I believe in you. I believe you love to give your children rest. I know I am your child. I know you will give me rest. I thank you for hearing my cries. I believe you will do what I have asked. I thank you for your love, goodness, grace, and rest.

I thank you for Your Son and for all my many blessings.

In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.
